Acclaimed newsagents in Broxburn, West Lothian is now under new ownership.
Run by the previous proprietor for 39 years, the business was founded in 1914 by the vendor’s Grandmother. The Post Office was incorporated in 1993. The premises are fully equipped and ready to commence trading upon acquisition.
The business operates from 05:30 – 18:00, Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 18:00 Saturday and 06:00 – 13:00 on Sunday. The business offers an excellent selection of newspapers, magazines, confectionery, soft drinks, stationery, cigarettes and a local Post Office counter. The business further benefits from limited CCTV. It delivers in excess of 700 newspapers per week.
Although the businesses are trading very successfully, there is still scope to expand the business. The business was ultimately placed upon the market due to the current vendor’s desire to retire.
Once placed upon the market by Bruce & Co. the business generated substantial attention. After 6 viewings and 2 offers, the Post Office and newsagents were ultimately acquired by a first-time buyer. The opportunity to split the premises into two separate businesses was ultimately what motivated the acquisition.
