Susy’s Tearoom Is Now Sold Thanks to Bruce & Co.
22nd January 2020
This unique tearoom in a picturesque Tighnabruaich, Argyll and Bute location is now under new ownership.
Originally established in the 1940s, this community tearoom has been under the professional ownership of the previous vendor for over 20 years.
Over the last 2 decades, the business has consolidated its place within this close community.
It has generated an excellent reputation for delivering a warm and friendly service to both village residents and those who visit the tea room on their travels.
Throughout the previous vendor’s ownership of Susy’s Tearoom, the business has significantly benefitted from reinvestment and redevelopment projects.
Due to this, Susy’s Tearoom has positioned itself at the top of its sector in the local area.
After over 2 decades of a fulfilling career operating this popular tearoom, the vendor ultimately decided it was time to retire.
The vendor realised that they have achieved everything they wished to achieve within this setting, and that their years of hard work, reinvestment and redevelopment has left in place a perfect business to acquire.
They knew it was time for a new operator to take control of the business and to introduce their own ideas and approach.
The vendor enlisted the experienced brokerage services of Bruce & Co. to facilitate the sale of Susy’s Tearoom.
Once the business was placed onto the market, it generated a substantial amount of interest. After 7 viewings and 4 competitive offers, the business sold.
It was acquired by an ambitious first-time buyer who has a background in the holiday sector. They wished to open their own tearoom, and they were enticed by the excellent picturesque location of the business. They were also aware of the business’ established reputation.
They plan to modernise the setting, and to continue running the tearoom to the high standards that it usually operates at.
The vendor commented;
“I was greatly impressed by Steve at Bruce & Co. He provided me with regular updates, and he was very effective at finding me offers.”
“He also provided great assistance by constantly passing information between the parties.”
“I was very happy that the deal completed in time for my holiday, and I am very happy to be retired.”
The buyer commented;
“I am very satisfied with the service provided by Bruce & Co. and I am happy with the purchase. I am looking forward to developing the business.”
Lead Negotiator Stephen Croft commented;
“I was very happy to complete this sale, especially as it was quite challenging due to structural issues with the property. By working closely with all the parties, we were able to overcome these challenges and enable the vendor to retire as planned.”
