Bar Brig Sold by Bruce & Co
2nd September 2020
This unique bar in Edinburgh has been sold by Bruce & Co.
With a successful trading history spanning over 50 years, Bar Brig has established itself as a popular drinking destination and music venue. Situated on the famous Leith Walk in Edinburgh, the bar is perfectly placed to attract custom from a vast amount of regular footfall, as well as benefiting from an expanding collection of regular patrons.
Offering a highly contemporary and rustic interior, the bar is greatly equipped with an assortment of distressed wooden chairs, tables, bar stools and booths, with a 1960’s inspired psychedelic paint scheme adorned across the seating area.
In addition to offering food and drink for up to 50 people, the property houses a music venue in the basement with enough space for 80 attendees. The area is fully fitted with a stage, performance lighting and music equipment.
Now seeking retirement, William Ross, the previous owner, decided now was the perfect time to place the business onto the market. As a leading business broker in the Scottish licence and leisure industry, Bruce & Co were formally instructed to facilitate the sale. After a thoughtful marketing campaign, the bar was sold to an individual with experience in bar management. Citing the enviable location and reputation of the setting, the new owner was immediately attracted to the bar.
The vendor commented;
“I was delighted with the sale I made through Bruce & Co. The team dealt with the transaction and kept in touch with me on a regular basis. They showed professionalism, empathy and understanding throughout during a difficult period for everyone but ultimately were able to secure a successful sale. I would 100% recommend the services of Bruce & Co.”
Lead negotiator Stephen Croft commented;
“I was thrilled to be able to agree this deal remotely during the initial lockdown period and I wish all parties involved the very best in their respective futures.”
