Popular high-street store Henry Hogg sold by Bruce & Co.

Henry Hogg, an established convenience store in Montrose, has been sold to a first-time buyer, advised by Bruce & Co.

The business has been operated by the owner, Mr A Hogg’s family since 1948 and occupies the ground floor of a tenement building. It was placed on the market due to the owner’s wish to retire.

The store is an integral part of the seaside town of Montrose and regular repeat custom due to its central location and lack of competition in the area.

The store also benefits from good travel links, with Dundee and Dunfermline a short drive away alongside tourists visiting from Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Bruce & Co were instructed in the sale of the store and our unique and bespoke marketing campaign generated significant interest in the business, with 10 viewings and 4 strong offers made.

The buyer was drawn to the store due to its location and the business matched what they were looking for in a first-time opportunity.

Upon completion of the sale, Mr A Hogg said: “Thank you to Bruce & Co for your efforts. I was looking to retire and move on and I am pleased I can look forward to my future plans”.

The buyer said: “I have begun working in the shop right away so that’s keeping me very busy. I am looking forward to growing the business and turning it in to a family business. Thank you, Bruce & Co, for your help, I would definitely recommend them”.

Sales Negotiator Lauren Lees: “I am very pleased for our seller and buyer. I wish the new owner and the seller best of luck with their future plans”.
