Glasgow Butchers Sold By Bruce & Co.

R A Dunbar & Sons in Neilston, Glasgow is now under new ownership.

Bruce and Co. had the pleasure of placing this esteemed family butcher shop onto the market. Established in 1970, this Neilston community cornerstone has been under the ownership of the current vendors for nearly 50 years. Substantially evolving as time went on, the business developed an excellent reputation for providing fresh meat and a friendly service.

Advantageously located on the main street within a small shopping complex, the shop is within prime proximity to a new housing development.

Placed on the market due to the current vendors’ wish to retire, Bruce & Co. ensured them of a swift and smooth transition of ownership, the shop was subsequently sold. It was acquired by a corporate buyer; an exquisite addition to their prominent portfolio of businesses.

An experienced sector operative, RA Dunbar & Sons became part of a popular family chain of butcher’s shops, due to a tactically placed advertisement. The high standards of trading and the business’ predominant location greatly influenced the acquisition. The new vendor wishes to enhance and develop this veteran butcher shop.

Lead Negotiator Stephen Croft commented;

“Butchers shops are quite a specialist area of retail and after researching trade publications, I found an advert requesting butchers for sale. I approached the prospective buyer directly, advising him of a recent price reduction and introduced him to the vendor. Following a viewing with his company directors, a sale was agreed. The vendors were happy to proceed, in order to pursue their retirement plans. I was very happy to achieve a successful sale for the vendor and enable them to enjoy their retirement.”
